Wow!
I cannot believe it is Dec 7th and we are smack dab in the middle of the Christmas season! We survived S birthday weekend--always thrown in the middle of the season. She had her cousin and a friend from school over to spend the night. The next morning we headed to the skating rink with 5 kids in tow!!! (Wow, never realized when you have 3 of your own, it doesn't take but just a couple more and you have a heard of kiddos)!!! All the kids including M tried their hand at skating, lets just say that no one quite mastered the rink while we were there. There was a lot of falling, a few tears, soreness and bruising-- but thank God no broken bones. Proof that God answers prayers!!! The minute all the kids got out on the rink and started falling all over the place this mama started praying!!!! Maybe skating with 5 kids ages 3, 5, 7, and 8 was not the best thought out idea. Zach and I both enjoyed the skating, we hadn't skated in over 15 years!!!
The tree is up and we have all really enjoyed it this year. This is the first year in a long time that I have not had to struggle with keeping little hands away from ornaments on the tree. We still have had some tragic ornament accidents, but by now I most of my ornaments are pretty kid proof. (All the fragile ornaments have already been destroyed in the years past). The shopping is coming along and the kids are changing their Christmas lists daily! Santa should make a rule that there should be no last minute toy swapping on the Christmas list!! Ha!
I have really enjoyed the Christmas music at church. I never get tired of those old Christmas hymns we sing over and over. I also like some new Christmas songs too!
My goal is to get my Christmas shopping done in the next couple of weeks and to attempt some baking. We will see how this goes...We still have parties and Christmas cards, school events and lots to do before we sleep and lots to do before we sleep... I love the WHOLE season of Christmas. The business, the excitement, but most of all the celebration of MY SAVIOR'S birth!!!
