Worst to 2nd!

So proud of S and her Team this spring. After a discouraging season and only 1 win during the regular season, they rallied for 2nd place in the tournament. She has definitely had some challenges transitioning to fast pitch softball, but every time she played she gave it her all and had a blast doing it! Great job girls! S, I had so much fun watching you improve this year.

Done at Last!

So proud of all the kiddos and the great ball season we had. Yes it was very busy and we had some late, late nights, but truth be told I has a blast. Ten years ago, I would never had dreamed that my favorite thing to do on a Friday night or any night was to watch my babies play ball. S is going to try competition cheerleading for the fall and and E and M will be playing more ball. We are going to take a much needed break this summer. Give me a week or two, I'm sure
I'll missing those ball games!

The milestones keep coming...

Can't believe M is done with preschool. Such a bitter sweet celebration tonight at the ELC. What a great year it has been! M has blossomed. She has overcome some shyness, made some great friends, and has learned to love school! Thankful for such great teachers and a wonderful Christ-centered place to send all of my kiddos. Good-bye ELC, maybe we will see you again someday...?

Getting close!

Can't believe we are so close to the end of the year. I went with S's class on a field trip yesterday. We went to a historic site 10 min from our house, but it was a really neat trip. We ate outside and the weather was perfect! Can't believe I will have a 5th grader next year. S I am so proud of you and how well you have handled change this year. You are awesome!

Decisions...

After 2 seasons of softball, S has decided that she wants to try Impact Cheerleading. I have heard really good things about the program, but I have really been torn and unsure about advising her about this. S is still very open to my thoughts and opinions and I so want to try and steer her in the right direction. The only problem is... I don't know what that direction is. After being sure about Impact, she waffled about her decision and was feeling like she was leaning toward softball. This left both she and I even more confused. She really has loved softball, and has made great improvement in the last 2 seasons and I hate for her to leave just when she is starting to gain some confidence, but how will she know of she likes Impact until she tries it? I think we have finally come to the difficult decision that she will try Impact and see if she likes it and possibly play softball in the spring. I just hope the season missed in softball doesn't but us back at square one. Ok, I know in the grand scheme of things these are really not big decisions, but the pathway we start our children on effects them forever. I just want to do everything I can to help her chose the right path. Just as I am writing this I realize that all I can do is point her to Christ and He will take care of the rest. I have seen Him do that time and time again in my kids lives, but this control freak Mama just has a hard time leaving it with Him!!! S--whatever you do---do it mightily as unto The Lord. I love you and the mature young woman you are becoming.

Graduation Day

After 2 years of classes in Columbus, Z finally finished his Master's Degree. I am very proud of him, it was well worth all those crazy, long weeks with him being out of town and me playing single mom with all the kiddos. It has really gone by fast (I guess after 10+ years for his bachelors, it did go by fast) His parents (both sets), and Tully and Lauren came down and helped us celebrate. We did a ceremony for just the Command College in the morning and then the ceremony with all the students that night. The kids did great for the long ceremony. We did have to go get some nachos to help tide them over. (Eating nachos during a college graduation? Hmmmm.... That should be in a Jeff Foxworthy show. Oh well, a desperate Mama will do anything.

Tales from M's teacher

I went in a few days ago for a conference with M's teacher. Besides the fact that we need to work on letter recognition over the summer, M has has a pretty good year. It is fun to get a teachers perspective of your child, so I was all ears while she told me about M's role in the classroom. Apparently she has taken on the role of peer support. She is my little tender heart that doesn't want anyone to be sad or be hurt. She can yell at her brother or sister, but the minute she thinks one of them might be feeling bad or is hurt she runs right to their side. This behavior has followed her to the classroom. Her teacher said that her friends know that she is the "guidance counselor" of the class and run to her when they are hurt or upset because they know that M will give them sympathy. Ha! This just makes me laugh. If only I could be a fly on the wall... Seriously though, can't wait to see what plan God has for my tenderhearted little girl.

Field Day

Nothing's better than a cold Popsicle with some friends on field day. My baby is getting so big.

Special Memories

Sharing some special mornings with M. Next year she will be in all day school with her brother and sister. Times are changing. Can't think about it too much, she has been my little shadow for 5 years

Even Better!

Z and I spent our 13th anniversary at the Braves game with our kids and their baseball and softball teams. Z was packed and ready to go when I got home from work. Complete with about 20 hotdogs, chips, drinks, and even some nutter butter bars for desert. You earned some major brownie points for the meal to take to the ball game. A man after my own heart and not to mention the 50+ dollars you saved us. Thirteen years ago I would not have imagined spending an anniversary at the Braves game with my hubby and kiddos. In fact, whatever I did imagine didn't come close to how much I have been blessed, 13 years later. God has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams and spending my anniversary at the Braves game with my family suits me just fine.
