Update!

Wow! I cannot believe we are coming to the end of October, we have already had our first frost and it is time to begin thinking about the Holidays. After our crazy couple of weeks we were ready for some down time. Some rest and relaxation. Maybe I should have been more specific about my "downtime", running a fever for six days and being out of commission for over a week, was not exactly the kind of down time I had in mind. God is good and finally, except for a lingering cough, I am back to normal.

The kids are anticipating Halloween and Fall Festivals in the up coming couple of weeks and Z and I are hoping to hear the sound of construction very soon. After almost a month of a water damaged house we are hoping to have a contractor lined up and construction/repair started by next week. Wow! What a slow process. We have so much to be thankful for--compared to many other people who have had their homes destroyed. The good thing about the damage was that it is in the foyer and S's bedroom. Two areas that are pretty much out of site from our living room and kitchen. I don't have to stare at a mouldy, rotten wall while I am washing dishes. (something that I think would drive me crazy!!!!) S and E have been troopers, sharing a room while S's room is "broken". Dealing with the insurance company has been a challenge to say the least. We are still waiting an appraisal and a decision from them before we can begin the repairs.

The kids are back in the full swing of school after a week off that worked out in our favor. They did not have to be absent to go to Texas for the wedding. Despite lots of homework, we are trying to enjoy the fall weather, because we know we don't have many warm days left. I have finally sorted out all of the winter clothes, now that I have put away the summer clothes for the kids I am sure we will have a warm spell!!! Oh well! I will take warm weather any day, any way, over cold!!!
