While vacuuming

I was thinking the other day (as I was vacuuming), that I like to clean all my floors at the same time. It really does little good to clean one room in your house without cleaning them all because, we just track the dirt from the dirty floors onto the clean floors and soon you cannot tell the clean floors from the dirty floors.

As I was thinking about that I thought, "that is how sin and guilt are". Although when we are saved God cleans up every area of our lives, we only give Him some of the areas. We leave some of our "floors" dirty. We refuse to forgive ourselves of past sin, and let guilt take us back to those "dirty" rooms. God has forgiven us and cleaned us up completely, every room in "our house". All of my sin and guilt were cleaned with the blood of Christ, when he died on the cross for me. Lord help me realize that and not track "my dirt" my sin, my guilt, my shame into "rooms" that have been cleaned completely with God's grace and mercy.
