I am amazed every day at how fast my children are growing up. It makes me a little sad, and I miss the "baby" stage a little, but the stage they are quickly approaching now is so much fun. I can't believe that I have a 7 year old. S is changing almost daily. She is really beginning to think through things and in her brain, and it is so much fun that she shares this with me. The other day she asked me if you could marry your brother? I told her that no, people did not marry their brothers. I was laughing inside, but to her this was a serious question. I could tell her wheels were turning, just for kicks I thought I would investigate a little further. I said why "were you thinking about marrying E?" She said, "well, I just thought marrying E would make things a lot easier!" That's my child, always thinking practical. Then she turned around and asked E who he was going to marry. That's when my little man proudly announced that he was not going to marry S, that he was going to marry his mom. Okay, so we have some relationship issues we need to work on!
Seriously, it is great to be able to have conversations with my kids, to share with each other, and to teach them. The school age years are going to be so much fun!!!
