My not so little boy turned 10 on Tuesday! We celebrated low-key, but enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the porch after I got home from work Tuesday night. Cannot believe my boy is 10, but when I look at him and his size, sometimes I have to remind myself he is only 10. Ethan you are quickly catching up with myself and your sister in height and weight and have passed both of us in shoe size. Every season this year, we have gone to your closet and absolutely nothing fits. You have grown out of stuff right before my very eyes. You have lots of new stuff with tags that we had to put in the too little bin this year! The past year has brought some challenges.... a broken hand and lots of strep throat, but Ethan, you have handled it like a champ. Ethan is a "middle" in our family, but you are quite a leader with his friends and siblings. Social stuff just comes easy for you. You seem to make friends without even trying. Nothing rattles you and that is how you take on life. You are a "hands-on" kid in every sense of the word. Not only are you hard working and successful in the classroom, you have a "smart" that cannot be taught. I was just thinking about Tuesday night when I was trying to light the gas burner on the fire pit. I was carefully reading the instructions and still could not seem to get it to light. I went to call Zach to ask him what I was doing wrong and you came in and told me you had it working, that so reminds me of your Daddy. You stay the course and do not give up easily. One of your favorite things right now at 10 years old is LEGOS. I am amazed at your diligence and your patience as you build. I love to see you interact with your siblings. You love each of them and would do anything for them. You are patient with your siblings and truly are a peacemaker in our family. Ethan you are quite and calm, and when you do speak up everyone listens. I love it when every once in a while you open up and share your heart with me. Wow! Ten years have flown by, just think in 10 more years, you will be 20! I love thinking about the future and can't wait to see you develop into the man God has created you to be. Happy 10th Birthday, Ethan! I love you so much and am so thankful that I get to be your Mama!!
Take a police officer and a nurse, add 4 kids and a crazy schedule you get a our fun, wild, busy life with lots of blue lights and bandaids. Well somedays...
