Home at Last!

We arrived at the Atlanta airport at 5:30 am on Saturday morning.  We had traveled about 26 hours including our trip in the van to the airport in GZ.  Just a side note, we were in a wreck on the way to the airport in GZ to catch our flight to LA.  We were actually rear-ended along with three other cars on the freeway. After we knew everyone was fine, and we were not going to miss our flight, we just
had to laugh.  We couldn't leave China without ALL the experiences, even the fender bender!

Miles did great on both of the flights.  He slept the majority of the 12 hour fight from China.  He definitely didn't love all the hustle and bustle at the airports.  All of the loading and unloading of luggage and the lovely experience through TSA and all the immigration lines.  Although, I didn't express it quite the same way, I totally get it Miles, all that stuff makes me nervous too!

The feeling I had when we landed in Atlanta Saturday morning was of complete joy and utter relief!!  Finally, I could relax and enjoy just being home. We had completed every last step of the adoption process and finally we were getting off the plane in Atlanta with our son.  There was no better feeling in the world.  Except when I saw my other kiddos waiting on us and then being there all together was the absolute best feeling ever.  I looked back at pictures and videos of that moment and they just really don't capture the joy I felt.  I was praising God in my heart for His faithfulness and then to see the people who have been so supportive of us during this journey, was simply icing on the cake to a perfect moment.  In all of our excitement we didn't get a picture of our new family of 6.  I was a little bummed about that, but the picture wouldn't have truly been representative of the joy in my heart and picture or no picture, I will not forget that moment  or that feeling for a long, long time.
