Nate and Shooter and a rare moment that they were both calmWe had quite an adventure dog sitting Shooter for Aunt Lauren and Uncle Tully. Both families had trips planned for the summer, so we thought we would save some $$$ and keep each others dogs instead of boarding them. L brought Shooter to my house Wed morning. We have just recently installed an inground fence and so we able to let both guys out in the backyard to run some energy off. Both dogs were loving the freedom and having a blast when Shooter came up on the back porch with his leg bleeding. After a closer inspection, I saw that he had about a one inch deep cut in his leg. I was so upset, poor Shooter got hurt in my care. I quickly went into Mommy mode. I felt like I had one of the kids friends over and they had gotten hurt at my house. I call L and T and sent them a picture of the cut trying to decide what we needed to do. After some delibration and a visit from one of T's freinds that takes care of Police dogs we decided it was unavoidable, Shooter need to go get stitches. Luckily, his vet was still open and we were able to take him in and have stitches put in. Shooter did great with the stitches, they didn't bother him a bit. We still have not found out what Shooter cut his leg with? I even got under the porch with a flashlight and didn't find a thing. Sorry T and L and Shooter. So much for saving a little money... Oh by the way, except a little scuffle here and there with the dogs and Shooter chewing through his leash at the park everything else went fine! I hope they don't consider me unfit to babysit in the future when some little nieces and nephews come along...
