Happy Birthday!

S turned 9 on Saturday. We celebrated her special day with a few friends and a trip to the American Girl Store. After trying to talk S out of ice skating for her birthday. (we did roller skating last year, with one special friend from school. Neither of the girls could skate very well and I was worried we would send her friend home with a broken arm) I suggested doing lunch at the American Girl Store. S was very excited about the idea, and I was very pleased with how it turned out. I must say, since I have girlie girls, American Girls are my favorite things for the girls at their age. They are wholesome, all about education, history, and they allow girls to just be little and enjoy playing with dolls. There are no boy dolls, no high school dolls, and no pop songs to go along with American Girl! Just pure innocent--little girls, playing with dolls. Yes! these dolls are on the pricey side, but considering the alternative interests, I am happy to pay a little extra. S, I cannot believe you are already 9! I am so proud of you and the young woman you are becoming. I had so much fun Saturday with you on your special day. A memory I will keep forever!
