It seems we have had our fare share of visits to the sick bed. (This is our family's name for our couch with a sheet on it, when a child in the family is sick.) The kids know that this is where they go when they are not feeling well. My mom always did this for us when we were growing up, being sick a lot as a child I found myself there many times. Although I did not enjoy being sick, the sick bed made it a little more bearable. When you were on the sick bed mom gave us a little extra love, attention, and tenderness. We have been on the sick bed a lot in the past two months. E just got over Strep Throat to have S follow right in his footsteps. I know all of this comes in cycles and soon we will all be feeling much better, the sick bed put away, and back to our busy schedules, but until then I will do what I can to make "being sick" a little more bearable--with the sick bed.Take a police officer and a nurse, add 4 kids and a crazy schedule you get a our fun, wild, busy life with lots of blue lights and bandaids. Well somedays...
