"Non Resolutions"

The Christmas season is officially over, the ornaments are down, the cakes and deserts have been eaten, and the gifts have been put away. Sometimes I struggle with this time of the year. Would be nice if we could go from Christmas straight to spring. Oh well, maybe we will get some snow this winter to have some excitement during the winter months. The kids are trying to get back into a routine, S and E will start school this week. We will be back to early mornings, mommy's taxi, after school snacks etc, etc. I always try and make some resolutions to start off the new year. Most I have broken the same day I have made them, but this year, instead of making a list of things I want to do, I want to make a list of some things I want to do less of.

- I want to worry less about my house being clean and play with my kids more.

-I want to let them make a mess, enjoy every moment of it, and clean it when I get around to it

-I want stop being so serious. When did that happen? I guess life can sometimes zap our sense of humor.

-I want to stop saying "I am tired" yes, there are times I will be tired, aren't we all? Sometimes though, the more I say it, the more my brain buys into it. Before I realize it, "tired" can turn into a lifestyle.

-And last, I need to give myself a break when things just don't happen like I plan. When the things I resolve to do or not do are broken before I start. I just need to remember to start each day fresh with a new beginning.

What are your resolutions or non resolutions this year?
